Our courses follow the Common Core Standards for Mathematics. The CCSSM is a set of learning standards that define the knowledge and skills students should acquire in mathematics in order to be college and career ready. The CCSSM is divided into grade-level standards, with the standards for all classes focusing on building upon the foundation developed in earlier grades and introducing new concepts.

Grade 3 Mathematics

Course Information

Course Description: The grade 3 Common Core Math course is designed to build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and skills. Students will learn to think critically and solve problems using a variety of strategies, including visualization, strategic thinking, and algebraic reasoning. Throughout the course, students will study topics such as place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, geometry, and measurement. They will also develop their ability to reason abstractly and quantitatively, and to model and analyze real-world situations using math.

Grade 4 Mathematics

Course Information

Course Description: Grade 4 Mathematics is a comprehensive course that strengthens students’ math through hands-on activities, problem-solving, and engaging learning experiences. Topics covered include place value, fractions, decimals, patterns, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, measurement, and data analysis. The course fosters critical thinking, logical reasoning, and communication skills, providing a solid foundation for future math learning and real-world applications. Regular assessments track progress and ensure concept mastery.

Grade 5 Mathematics

Course Information

Course Description: Grade 5 Mathematics is a comprehensive course that builds upon foundational math skills and focuses on key concepts aligned with the Common Core standards. Students will engage in hands-on activities, problemsolving tasks, and collaborative learning experiences to deepen their understanding of number sense, operations, fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement, and data analysis. They will explore topics such as place value, multiplication, division, fractions, volume, and graphing, while developing fluency in mathematical operations and applying critical thinking skills to solve real-world problems. This course emphasizes conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and effective communication, providing students with the necessary skills to excel in higher-level math and everyday life. Ongoing assessments will assess progress and ensure mastery of the standards.

Grade 6 Mathematics

Course Information

Course Description: In this sixth-grade mathematics course aligned with the Common Core State Standards, students will expand their mathematical understanding and problem-solving abilities. Through engaging lessons and activities, students will explore key concepts such as ratios, rates, and proportional relationships, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics, and probability. By focusing on real-world applications, critical thinking, and mathematical reasoning, this course aims to equip students with the necessary skills to analyze and solve a wide range of mathematical problems, fostering a strong foundation for future math success.

Grade 7 Mathematics

Course Information

Course Description: In the Grade 7 Mathematics course, students will build upon their foundational knowledge of mathematical concepts to develop a deeper understanding of numbers, operations, algebraic thinking, geometry, measurement, and data analysis. Through problem-solving and critical thinking activities, students will explore real-world applications of mathematical principles, enhancing their skills in number sense, proportional relationships, expressions, equations, and statistics. The course will foster the development of mathematical fluency, reasoning, and communication skills, equipping students with the tools necessary for success in higher-level mathematics and everyday problem-solving situations.

Grade 8 Mathematics

Course Description: The eighth-grade mathematics course, aligned with the Common Core State Standards, offers students a comprehensive and in-depth exploration of key mathematical concepts and skills. Through a combination of problem-solving activities, investigations, and collaborative projects, students will delve into topics such as linear equations, functions, geometric transformations, data analysis, and probability.
